Deleting items results in a Dependant Items error

If you try and delete something in Traffic LIVE you can only delete items that are empty.

 

For example you can only delete a job if it has no tasks in it. You can only delete tasks if there are no time entries attached.

 

We do not allow "cascading deletes" which would mean that deleting a job would automatically delete the tasks, time entries and orders.

 

The reason for this is two fold, firstly this is generally undesirable behaviour. Within an agency the deletion of time / orders etc is a pretty rare event. Secondly once a user has done this there is no way of recovering it .... so you have something that people should not usually want to do, and that cant be undone.

 

What is dependant upon what?

 

To delete a quote the quote must be empty, to delete a job like wise.Deleting a company will need all employees and adresses to be removed.

 

Tirning to admin the relationship can be a little less obvious. To delete a Chargeband for example must not be in use on a quote, a job, allocated to a person and so on.

If you get stuck please rasie a support ticket, but in general just think where might I have used that and you will get a good idea of the issue
