Traffic has two distinct levels. Projects and Jobs.
The project has a status and each job also has a manual status. As a rule these are independent of each other. You would set the manual status of each job according to the status of the specific jobs whereas the project would usually be changed to reflect the overall status of all jobs in the project. As an example a project that had three jobs would remain as an open project until such time as all of the jobs within the project were completed or closed.
Job status is by far the more useful setting of the two, as many searches, list screens and reports in Traffic are filtered by job status. There are no such searches that are filtered by project status.
However you can still change the project status if you need to: Click the 'view project sheet' button, which is located in the bottom, left hand corner of the project page. When this page opens you will see the project status displayed in the top right hand corner. You can select a status from the drop down list to manually override the status of the project.
Project status can be set as OPEN, ON HOLD, CLOSED and ARCHIVED. If you use the "CLOSED" setting, the project will come up in searches with a "feedback sheet" as it's main display, although you can view all the details again at any time you choose to.
Please note that the status of "archived" has no effect on the data present in Traffic, it is for your reference only.
Finally, did you know that the terms for project status can be used in the main project screen "quickfind" window? If you normally type "all" into this search, try typing "open" or "closed" instead - this will bring up all projects with that status - which makes using project status more useful.
