Traffic Plugins Install Error Message

This article provides you a step by step instruction for both WINDOWS and MAC if you get the follow error while installing the Traffic plugins : -

 This happens is because the Extensions directory within FileMaker will need to have full permission level access to install the plugins.

 FOR WINDOWS  - A simply solution would be to :-

(1) Firstly close the setup file and filemaker if its already open go into FileMaker Directory C:\Program Files (x86)\FileMaker Pro \ or C:\Program Files (x86)\FileMaker Pro \

(2) Right Click on 'FileMaker Pro' File found under this directory and click on Run as Administrator, if you are prompted to enter a username and password please enter the administrator username and password associated with the machine.

(3) Now run the TrafficSetup.fp7 file.

To set full permissions to this directory do the following : -

(1) Browse through to the Extensions Directory in FileMaker. 

For WINDOWS this is found under  - C:\Program Files (x86)\FileMaker Pro \Extensions\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\FileMaker Pro \Extensions\

For MAC this is under  Applications > FileMaker Pro > Extension

 

(2) Set the Permissions To Full Access

FOR WINDOWS -

 

Right click on the folder and select Properties

Go to the Security Tab and Select Users

Click on Edit

Now you see a dialog box called - Permissions For Extensions,

Please select Users and under Full Control tick the  Allow button

Now Press 'Apply' and OK

Press OK again.

 

Now Close The Extensions Folder, Quit Traffic, and run TrafficSetup.fp7 again.

 FOR MACS -

Right click on 'Extensions', and choose 'more info'.

Click the 'pad lock', and enter your machine's Administrator Username and Password.

Make sure Read & Write is selected for the user 'everyone'. 


Apply permissions to all files and folders within this folder.

Click on pad lock again

Quit Traffic, and run TrafficSetup.fp7 again.
